Experienced Guidance, When You Need It
Experienced Guidance, When You Need It
For over a decade and a half, global markets were shaped by ultra-low interest rates and unprecedented fiscal stimulus. During this period, capital flowed freely into leveraged transactions, often with reduced lender protections and aggressive debt multiples. Now, as higher interest rates and tighter financial conditions reshape the investment environment, many over-leveraged companies are facing refinancing challenges, liquidity pressures, and defaults. These dynamics are exposing hidden risks in portfolios built during the era of "cheap money."
Assets acquired under those conditions may be hiding unrecognized vulnerabilities. Investors and portfolio managers now face tightening credit, rising defaults, and value impairment in once-stable sectors. Astute investors are acting early: evaluating exposures, identifying emerging risks, and implementing strategies to protect value before problems compound.
Marlido Portfolio Advisory brings over three decades of global investment experience to help clients navigate today’s complex credit environment. We advise investment funds, family offices, and institutional investors by assessing, managing, and restoring value to challenged portfolios and individual problem assets. Our approach draws on deep credit expertise, rigorous analysis, and hands-on experience investing through multiple market cycles in the US, UK, and Europe.
Independent Analysis of Existing Portfolio Risk
We conduct comprehensive reviews of clients’ credit, equity, and fund holdings across both public and private markets to identify weaknesses and opportunities for value recapture.
Active Oversight of At-Risk Assets
We monitor at-risk assets and can assume direct roles in governance or restructuring, such as participating on management committees or boards, to protect and enhance value.
Value Recapture and Special Situations Strategy
We develop creative, outcome-driven strategies to recapture value on distressed assets informed by decades of experience in restructurings, recapitalizations, and cross-border transactions and supported by a global network of investors and advisors.
We can help our clients execute their value recapture strategies as an independent advisor, as chief restructuring officer working with restructuring advisors or as an independent liquidator.
Evaluation of New Investments:
We assist our clients in evaluating new investment opportunities, as well as secondary and continuation fund options, ensuring disciplined underwriting and risk-adjusted return potential within the broader portfolio context.
